Minga 3

Martin Vollmann, a born and raised Venezuelan with German roots, brings a unique blend of Latin and European musical influences to Minga 3 as their adept bass guitarist. His passion for music and the bass guitar were evident from a young age, leading him to a varied and exciting musical career.

Starting his musical journey in his native Caracas, Martin’s earliest experiences included performing with several Latin and American-pop cover bands, performing for diverse audiences and at prominent events. He shared stages with well-known Latin artists such as Oscar d’León, Guaco, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Elvis Crespo, providing him with invaluable experience and exposure.

The call of his European heritage brought him to Germany, with his first stop being the vibrant city of Hamburg. Quickly adapting to the local music scene, Martin began collaborating with the region’s most notable salseros. His musical journey then led him to Munich, where, within a short span of two years, he has graced some of the most sought-after salsa and Latin jazz stages in the Bavarian capital.

In the spring of 2016, Martin became a permanent member of Minga 3, enriching the band’s Afro-Latin Groove sound with his skilled bass guitar. With his combination of Latin American roots and European influences, Martin adds a unique layer to Minga 3’s distinctive sound.

His contributions to the band’s discography, including the EP «En la Casa», the single «La Vida de Tu Gente», and the album «La Noche Entera», have shaped the band’s music, adding depth and nuance. Martin Vollmann continues to be an integral part of Minga 3’s journey, his bass guitar a vital thread in the rich tapestry of their sound.
